APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCE &
In support of our Donors’ vision
Grants are awarded to eligible organizations that demonstrate the potential of their late-stage social science and health research to move vulnerable populations toward health, education and economic self-sufficiency.
The more compelling the connection between what an Applicant expects to achieve through its research and our Donors’ vision of people being healthy, educated and economically self-sufficient, the stronger the case for support.
SOCIAL SCIENCES RESEARCH OR INQUIRY
Social sciences research and inquiry provides important insight into an array of complex social issues that inhibit or promote an individual’s ability to be healthy, educated and economically self-sufficient. Our Donors believe research and inquiry in areas connected to the broader Investment Framework are vital tools for economic, human and social development.
Health research can lead to significant discoveries, the development of new approaches and remarkable improvements in the human condition. Our Donors believe applied and translatable health research forms the basis of effective practice and policies and ultimately moves those who are ill toward greater levels of health.
Eligible Target Populations
- By their very nature, applied research initiatives are designed to test a hypothesis or provide the evidence base for a program or prototype. Positive change in behaviour or condition of the participant should be the goal.
- All research projects must be connected to the broader Investment Framework which supports economically disadvantaged people to move toward health, education and self-sufficiency.
