GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
WHAT OUR DONORS SUPPORT
Grants are awarded to eligible organizations that align
All eligible organizations operating in Canada
- must be valid bodies corporate in good standing with Registered Charity status as defined in Section 248(1) of the Income Tax Act (R.S.C.) of Canada
- must comply with anti-terrorism legislation in all applicable jurisdictions
All Eligible Organizations Operating in the United States
- must be valid bodies corporate in good standing and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as being tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States of America
- must comply with anti-terrorism legislation in all applicable jurisdictions
Eligible Organizations Supporting the Charitable Sector in North America
- may be national in scope
- if not national, focus on Western Canada (primarily in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba) or the Midwest United States (primarily in Iowa, Missouri and Texas)
- satisfy the corporate and charitable eligibility requirements listed above
Eligible Organizations Conducting Applied Research in North America
- are universities, medical institutions and other nonprofit organizations interested in research and innovative solutions for health and social issues
- satisfy the corporate and charitable eligibility requirements listed above
Eligible Public Policy Organizations in North America
- may be national in scope
- satisfy the corporate and charitable eligibility requirements listed above
WHAT OUR DONORS DO NOT SUPPORT
Examples of requests not supported by our Donors:
- programs and services relating to the fine arts/performing arts
- efforts operating in public systems that do not allow choice
- political campaigns or candidates
- legislative lobbying efforts
- projects that exclusively serve religious purposes
- efforts that focus on international issues or propose to use grant funds outside North America
Please keep in mind that although an application may appear to fall under the guidelines of what our Donors support, it may not receive a grant for a variety of reasons. The proposal may not be considered competitive in comparison with other similar projects under review. Annual budgets may restrict funds available for investment.
