What efforts are supported?
Grants support eligible organizations whose work aligns to shared priorities, demonstrates potential for impact, and operates within Alberta, Iowa, or Missouri.
Interests also extend to policy initiatives, transformative medical research, nonprofit sector capacity building efforts, and select national initiatives and efforts in other provinces or states considered by invitation.

Examples of requests outside the scope of priorities include:
Programs related to the fine and performing arts
Direct support of publicly funded systems (e.g. the Canadian healthcare system, the US and Canadian public education systems, etc.)
Political campaigns or candidates
Projects that exclusively serve religious purposes
Efforts that focus on international issues or plan to use funds outside of North America
In Canada, your organization must:
Be a valid corporate body in good standing with Registered Charity status as defined in Section 248(1) of the Income Tax Act (RSC)
Comply with anti-terrorism legislation in all applicable jurisdictions
In the United States, your organization must:
Be a valid corporate body in good standing and be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code
